Only one new photo here—I just wanted to talk about the process a little bit, and so I can have 1 post to share what I was up to this weekend.
24 grubs x 1.5 to 3 hours of machine sewing + 2-3 hours of hand sewing each = like 100 hours of straight up sewing, not including curling the yarn by hand or shaping/painting/drying 52 little horns. Granted I was distracted for much of the hand sewing, because I did almost all of it in class during lectures.
definitely the most labor intensive cosplay i’ve ever done. And as far as I know, I’ve got the only complete set of wrigglers in the homestuck fandom…. i still can’t really believe i pulled it off in two months because i’m usually slow as shit with cosplay.
I’m not sure what the name of the material I used for their faces is called but it’s like, kind of fuzzy and I found it near the other knits and I’m so glad I didn’t use anything else. Their eyes are the same material as their feet, cheap costume suede lol. The variety of colors is thanks to cannibalizing shirts from Value Village, which I recommend, just make sure you verify the weight and stretch of the fabric beforehand, things that are too light can be difficult.
Inspired by askthewiggers because that blog is kawaii as fuck and I just wanted all of them. So I made all of them.
